Reminder: The request from the developer of the Central Mt. Pleasant project to amend the planned development and increase the number of residential units will be up for a vote at today's Planning Commission meeting, which begins at5PM at Town Hall. A copy of the agenda can be found here:
The Town's planning staff has reviewed the developer's proposal and prepared a report of their concerns and comments, which can be found here:
Save Shem Creek Corp. has heard from neighboring residents whose primary concerns echo those of the Town's planning staff. Among them are the fact that the project is proposed to significantly change from what was originally approved in 2007, the traffic generation needs to hold steady under the approved 12K daily trips number (including the MUSC medical office space), and the amount of parks and open space continues to decrease from the original plan.
We encourage all concerned citizens to attend today's Planning Commission meeting, as well as March's Town Council meeting.
